How to display the date

I know there was a recent poll, but for a brief
moment I thought this was Jun 11th and had overslept.

At least today is fairly unambiguous.

In court (don't ask why) the other day, I was solemnly asked:
"Are you David Angwin Eddy?"
"I am"
"Do you live at ...."
"I do"
"Do you still live there?"
"Yes"
"Were you born on 18/3/50?"
"Yep, still born on 18/3/50"

Can't imagine why I get into trouble.

Changing the year to 4 digits would make it unambiguous. I too have gotten confused as to the date of posts that are more than a year old.
