~140 MPH (225 KPH) quite often on the German Autobahnen in my 1988 Camaro from 1994-1996. That's the best it would go; lots of RPMs left (only at a little over 3500), but no torque in fifth gear.

Note: the speed given was by calculation based on the RPMs. The speedometer didn't read that high...

Been to 120mph, on a stretch of road with no onramps or exits, so no slow vehicles or jam-ups would be there to surprise me.

Will never do that again, unless it's on a test track.

I broke 600 mph in a passenger jet.

This might have no effect but maybe worth a try. Could you get faster in forth gear or do you either reach the same problem or reach max revs?

My best is 0 MPH driving a car, 90MPH as a passenger and ~32MPH on a peddle-bike

Fourth wouldn't have had enough room with red line at 5000, unfortunately. The gearing just didn't seem quite right. I needed a gear right in between - 4.5?

175 kph with Jaguar X-type (not at it's limit)
170 with Ford Fiesta (probably at it's limit)
I can go to Germany whenever I want to stretch the cars 'legs'.

well if I remember since he only has 5 digits shown you can only have a answer to 5 digits accuracy, which would mean the best you can get is 278.41

He gave 3 decimals. I multiplied it by 3.6 (another decimal) so I came up with 4-decimal accuracy...

I very much doubt that he had five digit accuracy in his measurement. I also observe that 173mph = 77.33792 m/s and suspect that the final digit (very probably meaningless in any event) was truncated rather than rounded.
