Suggestion for new versions of Prime95:
When Prime95 unreserves an exponent, have it place the reason in the prime.log file. I added 2 exponents (1 per worker) today (using a worktodo.add file and forced communications). Once they were assigned AID's (and all of the manual comm. was done), I stopped and exited Prime95. I moved them to the head of each queue in worktodo.txt. Then I restarted Prime95. It promptly dropped the last 2 exponents off the list. My settings are for 10 days minimum work, 200 expos max, 365 days to unreserve. I had about 6 - 8 per queue and less than 2 months of work. Running v26.2 |

Introduces a new undoc.txt item: NumPhysicalCores=n. For use in case where prime95 is not detecting cores/hyperthreading correctly. Specifically, dual-CPU hyperthreaded machines with hyperthreading disabled in the BIOS.

The estimated time of completion for this P-1 assignment is only showing Stage1 completion, not stage2. And even then it seems very wrong (it's 99% complete now, should be done stage1 in a day or so, not a month like the estimate says. And stage2 won't be done for many months, so that can't be right either).

The formula for total stage 2 time (in seconds) is: stage2_time = timing * (0.06154 * (B2 - B1)) * 1.285; where timing is the time it takes to do one squaring. You can get this timing by doing Advanced/Time. Prime95 gets the timing by using a precomputed guess for that FFT length * RollingAverage. Last fiddled with by Prime95 on 2011-03-06 at 18:56 |

I found that running Prime95 version 26.5 in my Windows 7 x64 PC with 12G RAM will cause my mouse clicking a little bit sluggish. Sometimes I need to perform a single click on a certain item for 2-3 times. When I stopped the Prime95 version 26.5 application, my mouse click operation will be very smooth and and click on a certain item ONCE.

Prime95(user)-when Prime95 (program) v 26.5 is stopped on my pentium d, it restarts TF at 0% when continued. Not sure if happens on all pent d's, but has happened 3 times so far. If possible, suggest remedy or try to fix in next version. Thanks!
