The server has dried out and will be upgraded before being loaded with Riesel/Sierp base 2 even/odd-n work next. Max will provide more details later on.

Ah yes, looks like it dried out overnight (along with NPLB's port 9000--rats, I was hoping they'd go down at different times so as not to leave people without a backup server). I'll get on the upgrade right away.

Results have been processed for R31, n=150K-250K and are attached here. One prime was found in this range.

The server has now been upgraded!
All seems to have gone smoothly, and the new work has been loaded in.The server is now running PRPnet v4.1.4. (4.2.0 has recently been released, but since this is a production server we generally prefer to wait until a new major release has been tried on some private servers first before upgrading. There aren't any huge differences between the two as far as CRUS is concerned, and 4.1.4 is fully compatible with 4.2 clients.) Note that there is a small cosmetic bug in 4.1.4 (fixed in 4.2.0) that causes the user and team columns to be switched in the list of primes on the server's web page; the data is in the right place behind the scenes, so it's just a display issue. I have it set to hand out pairs ordered by n, so it will start first with the k's that are searched to the lowest level, with others joining in as their lower bounds are reached. Eventually, around n=1.64M or so, we'll be working on a total of 11 k's (assuming none are primed before then). You guys ready to find some megabit base 2 primes?

I've just now added the four even k's from the Riesel/Sierpinski base 2 conjectures (in the case of the latter, the 2nd conjecture) to port 1300 for n=1M-2M. Gary finished sieving these last night for n=1M-2.5M, and we were originally planning to make them a separate drive, but as we thought about it we realized that they would go perfectly with the just-started batch of even/odd-n work currently in port 1300. Since it's only four more k's (for a total of 15 vs. 11 before), the additional workload shouldn't be relatively enormous.
Since the server is set to hand out pairs ordered by n, now that I've loaded these starting from 1M it will go back and catch them up, then continue as before with these k's included once it reaches the previous leading edge. Last fiddled with by mdettweiler on 2011-02-08 at 19:07 |

Looks like I wasn't concentrating when I edited prpclient.ini on my i7.
The stats say i5Lap and team RaidersOfTheLostPrime. ![]() I'll let you know if I find it. |

I'll have to take a look at it a little later once I'm done with the port 9000 upgrade that I need to do today...I should be able to fix this manually.

OK, I'll have our resident PRPnet server guy get you set up. How many cores will you be running? Max, Three things: Can you send Jean a care package so that he can run the PRPnet mini drive? Since he is releasing k = 60357 with a test limit of n=1264731, can you load all n above that limit for that k into the server so that we can get it caught up to the rest of the k's? Also please update the 1st post in that drive accordingly. We will be hitting n=1.4M on the PRPnet drive probably sometime on Weds. Please take time out early Weds. to delete pairs above that limit and load the better sieved pairs in there. Gary Last fiddled with by gd_barnes on 2011-05-11 at 18:06 |

Meanwhile: my schedule has now mostly freed up, so I should be much more flexible to do admin tasks like this. As you know, I have a rather large backlog to get through, but this is at the top of my list. |
