Using prpclient.exe from 2.4.7 in the updated 3.3.6beta directory looks to be working. Work was sent in as usual.

I can't seem to be able to return finished work - "nothing was received on socket"

It definitely looks like the server is down, and has been for at least the past 4 hours or so.

Server had to be rebooted.
In reality it was not down but as I found out now that the machine was under attack since 31.01. The machine survived but in the end the network was in chaos and stopped every access to MySQL.

Since the reboot there were no new entries in the log so I hope the attacker moved to another machine and does not come back.

It was not a DOS attack to bring the service down but an attack to hack into the machine to use it for whatever.
