Awesome! Thanks for the huge help Sloth. I had even added an extra quad to my range to make sure it was done this month. That will free me up sooner to put the quad on port 7000 and start putting a bigger dent in the large non-top-5000 12th drive.

Moved a few stable cores to Flatlander's llrner server. I think the server will dry within 6 days.

Cool!
This drive is now provisionally done; it will be officially done as soon as I get the chance to process all the outstanding results and check them against rieselprime.de.

The following have been processed and filed:
425-499 (completed by gd_barnes) 601-699 (completed by Sloth) 701-799 (completed by gd_barnes) 801-849 (completed by Flatlander) 851-1001 (completed by Sloth) And, would you know, we actually turned up a number of errors in the first-pass data for these ranges! The following are prime, but not listed on rieselprime.de:-437*2^138124-1 -695*2^103822-1 -713*2^111226-1 -939*2^149765-1 Gary and I had actually been expecting a lot more errors to show up in the k=300-1001 portion of this drive, due to the mess the old PrimeSearch site that handled that range was in. However, we have turned up a grand total of 3 primes that were missing from PrimeSearch (back when it was still online; these primes were properly noted on rieselprime.de) and 4 (from the entire k=3-1001 range; not counting two misses found in the extended k<300, n=260K-500K portion of the drive) missing from rieselprime.de--not too bad considering the size of the range. Well, that pretty much wraps it up for Doublecheck Drive #1. Much thanks to all who helped out with this "drudge work"! I'll get the results from this drive loaded into the stats DB as soon as I get the chance; once I've done that I will use the DB to generate a complete list of all primes in this range, when can then be computer-compared with Karsten's rieselprime.de data (to ensure that my bleary eyes didn't miss a prime while comparing them manually). Now we just have the k<300, n=260K-500K extension (let's call the two parts #1a and #1b for stats DB purposes) to complete...fun, huh? I'm not sure how much interest there is in working on that range, but it will need to be done at some point or another, so we may as well make that our next doublecheck priority. Gary, you mentioned a while back that you were hanging on to the the results from the extension that have been done thusfar; would you be OK with continuing to serve as the collector for these? If not, I can do it as I did for the main drive. Now that we have very well-sieved files provided by the NPLB/PrimeGrid GPU sieving drive for the entire k<10000, n<3M range, we don't have to sieve k's in the extension from scratch; if anybody would like a k, please let me know and I'll send you the file. (If interest is great enough, I'll put up files for download in the first post of this thread.) |

Great work!
4 errors/misses less on my pages. I wonder how many are still in there. I've updated the page with those 4 missing primes. |

Please no more doublecheck work for a long time, especially for n>260K. Let's concentrate on filling in the non-top-5000 12th drive first for n=250K-350K and then 350K-425K. That's a gob of work at this point. Besides NPLB folks did the k=300-1001 n=260K-500K range. We have results on most of it so it is likely to be far more reliable. Sloth, if you're still interested in doing NPLB work for a while, would you like me to load up your private server with some work from the 12th Drive? As Gary mentioned, it's all first-pass non-top-5000 work, and there's quite a bit of it we have to get through. |
