I understand SSE2 is used only on P4. Since SSE2 is also in Celeron2 and Pentium3, I'm sad since I can't fully utilize my Celeron2's potential.
Could HyperThreading on the latest 3,06GHz P4 be used to simultaenously run LL and factoring? Since LL is FP intensive, and at least some factoring methods are not, it would seem likely to have a good speed advantage, however the HT-enabled P4s are sparce at the moment. |

Pentium 3 does not have SSE2.
I think the reason why Celeron 2 are so slow is because their L2 caches are way too small. |
