Ah, the Strugatsky brothers: a shape of science fiction very different from the Western one, but also good. I've just read a translation of Monday Begins on Saturday - a very oddly marketed one, calling it the Russian Harry Potter, but intriguing. Obviously also Roadside Picnic; are the others good too?

Hard to be a God is interesting, and produced a couple of movies too.

All of them are good; the brothers had some certain style that resonated very well. The storytelling force is strong with them; and there's usually good deal of philosophy. Especially the later ones, like 'The Snail on the Slope' *

It is still the 2nd line champion in size!
(The 2nd line championship in snfs difficulty is eclipsed with 2,1127- that went unregistered in the champion tables.) |

That poll is now closed. As I had observed already, many people who had
visited this thread, did not vote for any option at all! Ok, is there any way (or best way) to determine the probability that a number of this size splits up into three factors, than that into two factors (or more than four factors), we already know that this number was not prime, before initiating to do with any work upon this number. It seems that the probability that number of this size splits up into three factors is much more than any of that individual options that are being listed up for that poll over here... though that many of the people did not vote for that option of splitting up into three factors at all! |
