Eliminating the heaviest would reduce the number of candidates, allowing to reach higher exponents faster. But projectwise, relatively to the resolution of the conjecture, it would be far better to eliminate k=79309, the lightest. And for me, nicer. With the trivial exception of 78557, 79309 is the smallest k with neither prime found in the direct sequence k*2^n+1 (up to 9M) nor in the dual one 2^n+k (up to 400K) .

Countdown to finish all n<9Mil: 417 tests to go

We're soon done with first passing all tests where n<9M.
Our PRPNet server has completed its candidates below 9M, our llrnet server has a few candidates left (31 at the moment) which Digital Concepts probably will have done soon. The rest of the candidates are in manual reservations, so that is up to Sloth, eric_v, Biggles and me. eric_v has just reserved a new range, so I'm guessing he'll be done with his range soon. I'm done with most of mine, just haven't returned them yet.

So far, we've done an outstanding job this year, both with finding a prime and cleaning up reservations/ranges. Let's hope it's not another 700 days until the next prime!

About 67 more tests to go. I have turned off a few machines and cut back the hours on the remaining ones. It will be a couple more weeks yet.

News from the double checking. Everything below 6M is now also DC tested.

We had no missed primes.

50 tests to go to finish <9m
1 from my batch. Looks like I deleted one too many lines when I was cleaning up my files after the prime was found.
There are a few left on the llrnet server and a few from one reservation. Should not be long now.

I have started testing my missed one. Should have results a a couple days.

This year has been a really great clean-up year for this project, bringing second pass to 6M and first pass to 9M.

Yup,

Good things!!!

With the speed improvement with the new client and the double checking of the bionic... next year may even be better.

Also on the sieve front, not sure how much cpu is put there but it would be nice if those people could come over to the prp front.

I was looking to see where the remaining 49 <9m tests are. There is one reservation that has 23 of them. Where are the remaining 26? I did not see them listed anywhere.

Good catch!

According to stats, they are all at 8600000. ltd is a bit busy these days, but he can probably shed some light on this once he finds the time. :)

He already has! I emailed him a week ago and got an answer. They are the fallout of the removal and reinsertion caused by the PRP that turned out not to be a prime. LTD has these in progress on his machines. They will be finished soon.
