Moderated Post

I've just saw this "Moderated Post" icon for the first time (see picture below, right one).

What's the meaning of it? First post of a new member granted by a supermod?

Also:
I've answered/quoted such post from a new member and my post got the same icon. Why?

Yes, it's a post by a user who hasn't yet been approved by a supermod. Note that you can approve his post as well: select the post and choose "Approve Post" from the drop-down list of moderator actions.

(I'm not sure if this approves just this post or the user in general, but either way it will make the post visible to all.)

Edit: confirmed, this only approves the individual post. I saw the post you're talking about in the NPLB forum and the same guy already had a post approved a little farther up the thread, but this one was hidden. It seems that as a mod you can approve individual posts, but only a supermod can approve the user in general so that his posts are always shown directly.

kar_bon, this came up once before. If, as a mod, you reply to a moderated post, without approving the post, your reply stays hidden as well, until someone else (or you) approves the original post.
