Trying to compile Msieve (revision 421) on an Ubuntu machine, I get the following error:
Code:
common/util.c:255: error: ‘code’ undeclared (first use in this function)
common/util.c:255: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once
common/util.c:255: error: for each function it appears in.)
Thoughts?

Ahh, yes. I had this problem the other day. Comes about when compiling for 32bit systems (32 bit builds are not normally tested, I think).

Change "code" to "code1" on line 167 of util.c

Try r422, which should fix the typo that causes this. Apparently not too many people try compiling on 32-bit systems anymore...usually I catch these problems but haven't had time lately.

(Your bug report was resolved in stereo!)

Thanks!

Version 1.48 (r422) compiled and is running.

However, all isn't quite well for my automated Aliqueit setup. I appear to have the "getrusage" trouble referenced in the v1.46 thread. It never quits the poly search. I'm going to try changing "use_msieve_polyfind" (in aliqueit.ini) to false to see if that works, but if not, I'll have to try a different OS for this machine, or relegate it to other activity.

The machine particulars are:

AMD 1.8GHz, 64k cache, (The OS thinks it is Athlon, but "I" think it is Duron)

1.25 GB RAM

Ubuntu 10.04 LTS ("uname -a" shows 2.6.32-25-generic #45-Ubuntu SMP Sat Oct 16 ... i686 ...)

Thanks for all your work. Any additional info is always welcome.

I wonder if this is a permission thing that you can control from your shell; it sounds like the sort of stuff that might be turned off in a non-developer install, sort of like forbidding core dumps.

Actually, at this point, things have gotten even worse - the hard drive has crashed, such that the machine can't even find it. The good part is that nothing of great value was on it.

I'll see how another drive and maybe a different OS work... more later...

Thanks again.
