I'm releasing R51. It had a summer break, and as I warned, I have only done a little work on it. That's why it's only at n=2800. At least it's started.

Now for the stats:

3373772 ks with primes
863253 ks with trivial factors
49593 MOBs excluded from testing
134 non-MOB ks with partial algebraic factors
29510 ks remaining

Gary, your estimate of 50000 ks remaining at n=1000 was pretty accurate. The actual figure was 49800.

I know Gary had all the data up to n=501, but in case a hard drive crashed or some similar disaster struck, I've uploaded everything to sendspace, including the primes up to n=501, instead of just sending the data past n=501 to Gary. Better safe than sorry. The file was too big to email (or at least it was too big for my email). Here is the link: http://www.sendspace.com/file/veqi00
The prime file is in an odd order due to the way I computed this base and a mistake, but that shouldn't matter.

Maybe this is a base for the recommended thread (perhaps with a notice saying "Approach with caution" or something of the like)? Or maybe even a candidate for a team drive to follow S63?

Anyway, if you like a challenge, why not take this one on?

Yes. I'll get to it in the near future. The large conjectures take me a little while.

Ian,

Can you give us a status on S51? Thanks.

Mixed bag. k's<1M are at n=20K - k's > 1M are at n=13K

I have approx 10K k's remaining. Slow going but I'm getting there.

Can you send me the primes? I'll act as a backup in case something happens to your machine(s).

10metreh,

Most everything including the algebraic factors look good.

I doublechecked this one all the way and extended it to n=3000. You did miss 18 primes, all in the n=1295 thru 1301 range or at n=1327. You might want to check your processes.

I'm not sure how you processed the range. Personally, I found it easiest to put 2 cores on it non-stop for ~12 days running the starting bases script without sieving. I ran k<=4.5M on one core and k>4.5M on the other. Sometimes for such a large-conjectured base, it's best to have the fewest human interventions possible, even if it takes a little more CPU time.

Here are the missing primes:
370020*51^1301-1
398134*51^1300-1
556042*51^1301-1
615070*51^1301-1
1091728*51^1327-1
1309868*51^1327-1
2184142*51^1300-1
2190000*51^1300-1
2534538*51^1297-1
2722070*51^1298-1
3984644*51^1297-1
4125304*51^1297-1
4511090*51^1296-1
5113084*51^1296-1
5240078*51^1296-1
6476380*51^1295-1
6569538*51^1295-1
8149010*51^1296-1

To all,

Officially for R51, there are 29,492 k's remaining at n=2800 and 28,520 k's remaining at n=3K.

All k's remaining at n=3K are shown on the R51 reservations page. I have also provided a link at the bottom of the page to a file of the k's remaining.

Mathew has indicated an interest in taking this one all the way up to n=10K. Mathew, if you are still interested, please post here. Thanks.

Perhaps these were due to the PFGW 3.3.4 bug?

No, all primes listed by Gary I've checked with PFGW 3.3.1, 3.3.2, 3.3.3 and 3.3.4 without any error!

But these were missed primes--they weren't there to doublecheck in the first place.

I've tested them first, found as PRP and then checked prime. No errors.
