Gimps/PrimeNet down?

last night i got an error message on my computers:

CURL library error; couldn't connect to host
visit http://mersenneforum.org for help.
etc.

that was about 1am; it is now about 6am and it is repeating, so it has been a while.

mersenne.org is also down for me.


maintenance or ?

I get an error if I try to log in (something with 'database down').

It's back now after being uncontactable for some hours, but I think it's worth pointing out this thread in the PrimeNet subforum. It helps to know if others are having difficulty too.

http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com is useful too, sometimes.

Yes. That "OFFICIAL 'SERVER PROBLEMS' THREAD" (at http://www.mersenneforum.org/showthread.php?t=5758 ) is where "GIMPS/PrimeNet down" reports should be posted. That thread is monitored by folks who are in a position to do something about server problems.
