If we get hit by a lot of search engines the software will limit the users to keep the forum from crashing... During the M40 deal we enabled the search engine blocker (robots.txt) so we could let the max number of real users online at a time, but now that things have slowed down we're letting the search engines back in for a while so they can index the entire site...
We've only had 2 database server crashes since the new software was installed... |

I don't know if this is a function of the new forum software, but &Pi and &Sigma no longer output Pi and Sigma symbols as they used to.

Until I can figure out how to program them in, you will need to use the decimal form:
http://www.redbrick.dcu.ie/help/refe...haracters.html Let's see if this works: π σ |

No, gotta wipe EVERYTHING. I don't know why, but just wiping MersenneForum doesn't work.

Has the Mersenne Forum site been hacked by Team Prime Rib? The favicon for the site now says "Tpr", with the "p" cleverly duplicating as the exponent in 2p-1.

I was away when the migration to this new system happened so I may have missed some of the initial problems but so far it seems pretty cool.
I'm still going through the new features but have not spotted any problems yet. Just one wee reminder for when you get the templates sorted out, a link to www.mersenne.org somewhere. |

I have experienced the server being busy quite often. When I close the browser after receiving that message multiple times, the server marks all my unread forums as read which is quite annoying. Any way to prevent that from happening?

A silly, low priority feature request stemming from chronic laziness:
Could we put a link to the current forum at the end of the current thread like this: « Prev Thread | LOUNGE | Next Thread » I know I could use the Forum Jump thingie but that often requires a bit of scrolling, and like I said, I'm lazy. |
