Welcome Svenie and Wabbit. We welcome people with any amount of resources.

One of our newer searchers with 4 cores, gamer007, is doing some searches on a "mini drive" that we have going. Here is the thread. I think that people with fewer cores may like such an effort because it has smaller tests that are still top-5000 prime searches. We have suggested that the drive only be worked on by people with under about 15 cores so there is no feeling of being rushed to complete reserved ranges.

Unlike our regular drives with larger tests where we use automated LLRnet servers, files in the mini-drive are available in the 1st post of the drive and are reserved manually. It requires running a manual version of the primality proving program LLR.

If you are interested in such an effort and have questions about how to run the software and where to get it, most times of the day, there will be people around to answer questions.

Thanks for your interest in the project.

The "mini drive" sounds interessting. I will read the thread and then, I think, give it a chance.

Hi again guys.

Short question only. Which server or port has the shortest tasks to do for my very, very old AMD Athlon 64 3500+?

A list of NPLB's LLRnet servers and what range they're currently on can be found here:
http://www.mersenneforum.org/showthread.php?t=10042
The one with the lowest right now is IB9000. That's a shorthand meaning it's run by IronBits (hence IB) and is on port 9000 (hence 9000). Here is the full, expanded, copy-paste ready, URL and port you'd use in LLRnet:
Code:
server = "nplb.ironbits.net"
port = 9000
It runs from n=200K-350K one k at a time, so it'll vary there pretty quickly, but will always be fast and non-top-5000.
Another option:
If manual LLR is an option, or you can convince/bug IB or someone to set up another LLRnet server, and you don't mind running doublecheck work, the doublecheck drive is even lower, with n=100K-260K one k at a time.
I don't know the exact sorts of times either of those would give for your CPU, but they're really fast.

Thanks a lot for the answer, Mini-Geek.
I´ve set the box to port9000. Tests running ~260 sec. The problem is, this machines runs a max of 3 days a week. So manual LLR isn´t worthwhile. And there is no need for top5000-primes. This will hopefully do my mainmachine.

I noticed Sloth has put a core or two on our port 9000 PRPnet server--welcome to NPLB, Sloth! I've added your email address (from your PRPnet results) to our database so that you can get email notification of any primes you find (we use the DB to send notifications instead of PRPnet so that we can do so for LLRnet servers as well).

I see that over at the PSP project you are on team "Team-TNT.net"; if you'd like to be on a team here at NPLB as well, post in our teams thread and one of the admins will switch you over as soon as you get the chance.

(Dave, quick question: when you add someone to a team via the admin web interface, are their points immediately transferred from team "-", or does that have to be retroactively fixed in the DB? I know it used to require retroactive fixing, but I don't recall if that's the case any more.)

@Max
The Participant totals and Team totals are aggregated directly from the results summary, so the change should be immediate after you make a change via the 'Manage Teams' page.
