I've just pulled up the actuarial tables for 2006:
http://www.ssa.gov/OACT/STATS/table4c6.html Plug in Kurzweil's age and sex, and you'll see that he's expected to live for another 19 years. So my vote is 2029. |

The German name "Kurzweil" translates roughly as "short while" ... perhaps that's really a hidden-in-plain-sicht clue?

Okay, very off-topic, but...
Leaving off people that are harmed in some way by chocolate(diabetes, allergies, people who are super-averse to being overweight, etc...) what are the reasons someone would hate chocolate? Are these people odd in some way? Not to be insulting, but I would think any English or European-speaking person(just realized that a lot of Asians and Chinese would hate chocolate because it's unfamiliar, maybe a few others) who had normal taste buds would tend to enjoy chocolate. |

Is it possible for a Chinese to not be an Asian? ![]() You know, you could have just have said "just realized that a lot of Asians would hate chocolate because it's unfamiliar"... Strangely enough, I got reminded of an old joke about a tourist visiting some old ruins. He asked the tour guide, "Did people build this, or did Indians?" |

No offense intended to either Chinese or Japanese people, I'm ignorant of your culture, but not quite that ignorant. :) |

As I said, I'm ignorant of that part of the world, so I'll ask a possibly stupid question.
If I were to remind a Japanese person that they are distantly related to Chinese people, would they tend to get offended? Would only some get offended, but most think that it's racist to think of Chinese as somehow separate? Is there some cultural difference that they feel is somehow important? Or is it like Americans and Canadians, where we tend to think we're better(talking about American culture, not myself in particular) but violence and hate crimes aren't a huge problem when we mix. Obviously hockey tournaments are the exception to what I just said, but people who like hockey are a little insane to being with ;) so it's like a man who thinks he's Jesus Christ thinking he's better than the man who believes he's Napoleon. (and if you take that last sentence as being serious, you are in the wrong forum to begin with, I mean everyone knows Napoleon was awesome) Edit: to get back on topic, living includes transferring your memories to a machine if we're going by Ray Kurzweil's definition, so he could have a heart attack, get his brain freezed, then 30 years later, oops, we need to resurrect this thread(not really) because we were wrong.
