Thanks for taking on a large effort Vmod. Taking care of that will complete all Sierp b < 39 with CK < 1G to n=25K!
![]() Karsten is currently working on R35 at n=15K and Max is currently working on S39 and I think he said he was at n=~23K the last time I heard. Taking R35, S35, and S39 all to n=25K will complete all Riesel b < 39 and Sierp b < 40 with CK < 1G to n=25K. Unfortunately R39 and R40 will be difficult with over 2400 k's each remaining at n=15K. But S40 will be easier than S39 with 200+ k's less remaining. Once both S39 and S40 are complete to n=25K, we'll have all Sierp b <= 50 with CK < 1G at n=25K! We could also define the same for CK < 1M. I'll do that at a later time. Eventually I want to put together a "current project search limits" posting that will encourage fill in efforts such as this. Serge reported in an Email that R96 is complete to n=25K. 123 primes were found for n=2.5K-25K and 52 k's are remaining. The base is released.

Here is a status from Mathew in an April 10th Email:

S35 status at n=15K.
124 k's eliminated, 700 k's remaining. Primes for this range are attached (3 k's gave 2 primes each and are indicated inside the file). Continuing to n=25K. |

Max,
I've added S39 to the recommended bases here, which I should have done in the 1st place but didn't because I thought you were near completion on it. You said about a month ago that you were at n=23K on it. If you aren't done with it yet, can you post an interim status report on it with primes found and a search limit up to n=15K or 20K? For bases with a lot of k's remaining, I like exactly what vmod did here. Posting an update with attached primes and a search limit every month or so or at nice round search limits along the way helps me spread out the admin effort a little and lets us know that people are still working on their reservations. I also like what Cruelty does on base 10 and all of his efforts here, at NPLB, and RPS. He reports a status on the last day of every month, regardless of the progress made. Personally, I just report them when they hit nice round search limits. Thanks, Gary |
