Wow - it works ... I'm back ... after deleting almost everything on my workstation ...

@wacky: you're right, it should read

"These matches form an equation using roman number notation. What's the minimum number of matches to be re-arranged to have a correct equation?"

Indeed, it was a little bit dirty to use "X" as "10" >>A N D<< as the multiplier sign. Typical FUN STUFF.
