Double-checks come in pairs?

A week or 2 ago I moved some computers over to doing Double-Checks. It seemed that I always got the assignments in pairs. I'd get 2 exponents to recheck even if my DaysOfWork said I didn't want work that far ahead. Are these exponents related in any way? Will factoring the first give me intermediate results that will speed up the second one? It seems unlikely but I couldn't figure out any other reason I was always getting pairs.
In another thread it was determined that the combo of a double-check and a 1st time factoring on a dual P3 was a bad combo. My PC-133 RAM would slow things down quite a bit. So I wanted to give back the double-checks I haven't started and wsitch to some Trial Factoring.
Does the RollingAverage number in loca*.ini indicate how "efficiently" things are running on a processor?

yes rolling average is a decent indicator. If you want to give back the DC exponents, reduce the number of days for work. If that doesn't do the trick. use the advanced menu, and unreserve the exponents manually.
