What is the intent of this subforum? Are puzzle threads solved in the regular puzzle forum supposed to be moved here by the moderators? Or should persons in charge of a puzzle that has been solved re-post the puzzle here with the solution?

Mike created this because he thought it would be a good idea to help avoid giving away the answers too soon.
Frankly, beyond that, I haven't thought about it enough to make any recommendation. I've been thinking that perhaps we should require the original poster to post both the puzzle and the solution at the same time. With the unsolved puzzle as before, have this be a moderated area where answers can be posted, but not displayed until the moderators think that an appropriate time has passed. I'm certainly open to suggestions. |

What I propose is that puzzles where the poster knows the solution still be posted as they are now. However, once the puzzle has run its course, the original poster should post his/her solutions with assumptions, and note in the post that it is the final solution. When the moderators see this, they can move the thread to the solved puzzles section.
I would also like to suggest something else. Because now we have the capability of subforums, I suggest that an Open-Ended Puzzles subforum be made. Puzzles like the physicists name puzzle can be put there, where they can be discussed, but a solution is not expected. This might even be considered the "lounge" of the puzzle forum. I'd be willing to moderate this forum if Matthes and Wacky already have enough work as it is. |

The speed limit in Bermuda is 30 mph, the Mucielago does not allow men taller than 5'6" (trust me, I tried already), tan Eminem? I'd hang him. Robert |
