At 3 TeraFlops and 10-1000 GB Memory standard, the current Cray supercomputers are nothing to laugh at! Something built by Cray himself though, now THAT would be an interesting addition to the GIMPS project :D

Definately not alive. But the Cray company lives on. Still a *cough* leader with the T3 and the like... They've got a market for cutting edge computing that won't change much in the next few decades...

I vaguely remember Seymore handing the reigns of his company over to his son, a while back?

Or am I thinking of An Wang and his kid?

An Wang did turn his company over to his son Frederick who was widely blamed for running it into the ground, but I don't think it was all his fault.
