3200-3400 as a reserved k range would be nice.
I personally will concentrate on k300-400 to finish it up but having another range to choose from with lower n's would also be nice. I think the sieve of K300-400 N=1M-2M should be done around year end. That will add another choice for everyone. |

And for people, how wants to do some bigger test, I have prpnet-serverport loaded with k=9941, 740K<n<2M sieved up to 15e12, 5399 tests left.

I have to finish k= 3045 and 3135 first.
They are BIG ![]() 3045 is on n=700k 3135 is on n=844k There is 37k candidates left todo ![]() Lennart |

iirc, I found that k=3045 gave the best primes to candidates ratio of all the ks I tested over a couple of years. No nasty huge gaps either.
I guess 2 more below n=1m.

Very good. I'm seeing only positive comments on making k=3200-3400 a manually reserved k-range. We'll hold off a few more days to get some more comments and subsequently allow some time to set up the effort if there are no objections. With assistance from Lennart, myself, and others, I'm hoping that we can finish the k=300-400 for n=1M-2M sieving perhaps in Oct. or Nov. I'm thinking the k=300-400 range will be done to n=1M by then. We could do all kinds of things with a monster n-range of 1M-2M. It will take so many years to LLR that we could divide it up in many different ways, both for manual reservations and for running portions through servers. We've kind of done that already for n<1M, with a hodge-podge of different kinds of efforts that have combined to fill in almost all of the holes. What would be the n-range for k=3200-3400? Also, just to clarify: the plan is to have it be individual k, correct?
I like the idea.

My idea for the k=300-400 n=1M-2M stuff was to just extend the current individual k effort to include the higher levels. No sense in starting a new drive just for that. Besides Cruelty has already taken 2 of the k's to 1.6M anyway.
The plan is to also sieve k=400-3400 to the 2M or 3M level. Of course k=300-400 would have to go to 3M if we go that route. And of course, we also have to finish the sieve for k=2000-3400 from n=600K to 1M. Maybe putting a thread out there listing all the ideas from here wouldn't be a bad idea. At my age, outta sight, outta mind is a prevalent problem. Ooops, almost forgot. We also have n=2000-3400 to do for n=50K to n=425K (LLR). Last fiddled with by MyDogBuster on 2009-07-24 at 01:23 |

The n-range would be the entire range that we sieved, n=50K-1M, although people wouldn't have to necessarily do it in n-range order. Last fiddled with by gd_barnes on 2009-07-24 at 03:38 |

Eventually I'll put a thread together of all of these misc. efforts for higher and lower n-range testing and sieving efforts. Plenty of other stuff to do right now. k=300-400 for n=2M-3M will be included with k=400-1001 for n=1M-3M for sieving purposes. That effort has already begun. I started it but iirc, Lennart has sent me factors for it up to P=1T. Last fiddled with by MyDogBuster on 2009-07-24 at 03:52 |
