Trouble Running Msieve

Hi, I'm new to the forums but I have been running Prime95 for a few months now. I decided to get my hands dirty with Msieve. I downloaded the windows executable for both the new and the previous versions. When I tried to run them, they didn't work.

Any suggestions?

Put the number you want to factor in a file called worktodo.ini and run the program.

Actually, msieve is a command line program. Open a cmd window and type msieve -? for all options.

Are you trying to use msieve for factoring with the Quadratic Sieve (QS) algorithm or the Number Field Sieve (NFS)?

If you are using it for NFS, this beginner's guide might help:

Thanks for posting the guides Jeff. I didn't install the other software yet, so that must be the problem.

Those guides are not for using Msieve, they are for using it with GGNFS. Msieve should still run without the others. Have you tried using a cmd window yet?
