Is a link to the new sieve file available anywhere yet? (e.g. from Lennart's server, if it's publicly available)

http://www.pgllr.mine.nu/privat/nfac...3400-50K-1M.7z Guys, do you think I should repost it on noprimeleftbehind.net in .zip format? Or can everyone here read .7z? |

BTW I'm just shy of 67% done, ETA (prior to the 1% speedup from the new sieve file, not that that'll really affect it any great amount) around June 4, about 7am. |

Thanks for posting that Max and removing the lower n-range and the completed factor range.
I can read the 7z file just fine but it's probably best to post it in zip format for those who may not be able to. Can we hold off on removing any more factors until a continguous P-range is done? Doing them out of order makes it very easy to miss doing some of them as the mass of them comes in. Generally I wait until a contiguous P-range is done. Here, since Karsten won't finish his range until the 15th, around June 8th, I'll remove all factors up to P=6.5T since all of those ranges should be done then. Then on June 15th, there will be a mass of them to remove as all P-ranges currently reserved will be done by then. Removing a P=1T P-range at such a high depth likely helps sieving speed by likely < 0.5% anyway. Removing the lower n-range probably helped quite a bit more than that (~1% according to Tim). Everyone please still Email me the factors when you're ranges are done. I'll rename this thread and related info. in the 1st post to show that we are now sieving only n=50K-1M. If the file that you download now has a different name as a result of the smaller n-range, be sure and delete the old one and change your command line when you restart it. With Lennart's excellent boost, I'll suggest that we now go to P=25T and will change corresponding info. in the 1st post. Once again, if it doesn't look like we'd make that by the 20th, we won't do it. Gary Last fiddled with by gd_barnes on 2009-06-02 at 21:14 |
