I originally got these files from the Riesel Sieve site but since it has disappeared I have put them up on a local FTP so others can grab them.
Basically it is an installer that will set up 2 or 4 service installs on your system. Makes it real easy to get today's multicore systems up and running at 100% quickly. The default setup is for rsp so you will need to change the llr-clientconfig.txt file to look to the PSP server. -- server location -- server = "www.footmaster.co.uk" server = "pspnet.no-ip.info" port = 12984 or for double check server = "pspnet.no-ip.info" port = 13984 2 instances ftp://sloth.gotdns.org/llrnet-installer-2svc.exe 4 instances ftp://sloth.gotdns.org/llrnet-installer-4svc.exe Just trying to get the info out and easy to do since a lot of people will be looking for new projects with OGR-25 finishing up shortly. Unfortunately I couldn't get it to work so I lost the best part of a day's crunching on a Q6600. When the first task finally reported the message said it had already been reported by someone else.
Deleted this thing and back to BOINC I'm afraid. Still you never know unless you try I guess. |

A little bit better setup directions that I blatantly copied from the ARS forums
1. Download the installer. There are 2 installers available for multi-core systems. Get them here. http://www.mersenneforum.org/showthread.php?t=10786 - this thread on mersenneforum 2. Install, pick your user-name, choose service or non-service. a. Do not register. b. Do not let it run the service when you are done installing. 3. Open "C:\Program Files\LLRNet Client\" and you will see a client# directory for each core. 4. In each client# directory, edit the llr-clientconfig.txt file. Change the following fields to these values. server = "pspnet.no-ip.info" port = 12984 5. In step 4 DO NOT copy the llr-clientconfig.txt file from one client to the next. There are piece of information in each file that need to be unique like the GUIport field. 6. Open up Windows Services and start the "LLRNet Client-#" services. Optionally, in each client# directory run the llrnet.exe if you did not install the clients as services in step 2. Last fiddled with by Sloth on 2009-01-30 at 16:31 |

So far there is no prpnet server for PSP. But as the latest versions of prpnet should have no problems anymore with restarting while a workunit is runing I will look into setting up a PRPnet srver in the near future.
Plans are for middle of june as I will be out of town on holiday before that. There will at first be an internal beta test with dc tests and then I plan to create a server for first pass tests also. |
