Can everyone here write about their educational qualifications and work experience?
I am doing final year UG Computer Science at India. I didn't get placed in any job (like Microsoft, Google, Yahoo, Oracle, Sun Microsystems), etc. and don't prefer to go for it, because all may be some routine type of work, and may not be something creative. My next scope is to join PG Computer Science at IIT or write GRE and do MS abroad in Computer Science and Engineering. Alternately, I can also join some institutes for doing my higher studies in Mathematics, and do research. My decision is fuzzy at this moment. I believe that doing some research in Mathematics should be something creative and not some routine work like software development and programming in a company. For example, Dr. Silverman seems to have a good knowledge about cryptography, Number Theory, Group Theory, Laplace and Fourier Transforms, Advanced Calculus, etc. as well as Computer Science concepts such as Data Structures and Algorithms, Operating Systems, Networks, Processor Architecture, Compilers, Theory of Computation (Automata and the Computational Complexity Theory), etc. I would also like to have as much knowledge. If I go for teaching, how much work experience do I need to acquire enough knowledge? Last fiddled with by Raman on 2009-01-05 at 16:16 |

I can pee my name in the snow pretty good - but I didn't see that as a poll option.
Oh, I can belch the alphabet up to "M", sometimes even to "O". Beat that! |

In addition to Doctor Mayer's poll options, there should be one for publications.
The part of my resume of which I am the most proud is a published paper in the esteemed "Journal of Irreproducible Results". Norm |

I noticed that J.F. has a master's degree, but doesn't have a bachelor's degree. I also noticed that frmky has a Ph.D, but doesn't have a bachelor's or a master's degree. I know that they probably didn't realize that you could choose more than one option, but is it even possible to have a master's degree or a Ph.D from a legitimate university without having a bachelor's?
Also, there should be an option that says "I don't have any of the above, but I rule the forum". Most of us know who's going to pick that choice
