The stock HSF is quiet, and free...

anyone has some info on the effect of fsb-speed with the p4 and iteration times?

let's say, you had one system running 200 MHz FSB, RAM 1:1 and then another 250 MHz, RAM 4:5, with both cpus at same clock speed (would need a p4c 3.0 and a p4c 2.4 for this example), what difference would it make?

I'm kind of unsure what to get, an used p4 with fsb133 or a new one with fsb200 (supposed they'd reach the same clock speed). sure the p4c would be faster, but the money...

Ok, I'm up and running with the 2.4C @ 3.0 with the P4P800 and one 512 MB stick of the Hyper-X Kingston 3500.
Complex33, have you had any problems with this system? Are you able to use a 1:1 multiplier with this memory?

Does anyone else have the same system with 2x256 MB sticks for comparison?

I am interested because I am looking at getting a similar system soon, and have the same question about memory. Is it worth spending a little extra for the dual channel kit for prime 95?

Recently the german CT' magazine did some extensive tests concerning the capacitors used for on-board power regulation.

It turned out, that for certain models/setups excess heat on the mainboard significantly reduced the lifetime of those capacitors well below the 4-5 year life expectancy of the mainboard.

So CPU-heat is not the only problem and especially for 24/7 systems proper cooling of the onboard power regulator should be ensured.

See perpetual bechmark thread - no significant difference, save your money for SC's.

Well unless you are buying a system ONLY for prime, I wouldnt recommend single channel...

There are people who buy systems for some other purpose?
