Karsten,

Nice prime! This also knocks out k=57462 for Riesel base 36. That is:

57462*36^60549-1 is prime!

Question:

Would you consider releasing Riesel base 6 at n=150K? I think it would be nice to run it as a team drive with a PRPnet server like we're doing with Sierp base 6. The Sierp side is nearing completion to n=130K with the 3 lowest k's being tested to n=150K first before resuming the rest of them higher.

I'm asking because even with only 11 k's still remaining at n=125K on the Riesel side, it is still unlikely to be proven in the next decade or more, even with a big team effort on it.

Thanks,
Gary

Thanks for the huge amount of work on this base Micha.

For everyone's reference, as implied in Micha's Email to me, he is unreserving this base. Although I am showing it as unreserved on the pages, it's going to take me a little while to update them and clean up the sieve file that he has provided up to n=100K so that it can be posted.

I'll probably take care of it as well as many other updates on the pages after I get back from my current trip...likely Thurs. or Fri.

I got a PM from Karsten saying that he would release Riesel base 6 at n=150K.

Max, let's plan on getting all k's on Sierp base 6 up to n=150K and then pausing if Karsten isn't there yet. We'll then discuss how we want to attack this entire base. It should be an excellent base for a combined team drive using new PRPnet.

Okay, sounds good. And, by the way--even if we finish one before the other, we can still go ahead and load whatever's ready into the PRPnet server--it automatically hands out whatever's smallest as the highest priority, so even if, say, the Sierp. side is at 170K by the time we're ready to start on the Riesel side at 150K, that's okay, since as soon as we insert the Riesel work it would immediately start doing that until it's caught up to the Sierp. side, at which point it would commence handing them out jointly.

Of course, if we did decide to hold off on doing Sierp. base 6 for >150K until the Riesel side is ready at that same level, then we could have the PRPnet server spend some time doing other things, say, some of the bases <32 that have only one or two k's remaining. It would be really nice to see a few of those knocked off--and many of them have sieve files already prepared.

Micha has officially released base 24 on both sides at the above search-ranges. He has sent me his sieved files. They will be available on the web pages in a little while.

Base 10 (riesel + sierpinski) tested & doublechecked for 195000<n<202769. I am still working on it.
I have used phrot linux executables 0.61 and 0.62 (both compiled by Geoff) and latest release of LLR. There were ranges when phrot was 2.5% slower than LLR, however most of the time it is 6%-25% (it probably uses different FFT lengths for given ranges of exponents than LLR).

It depends upon the base that phrot can use for the PRP test. I suspect that in some cases that it was able to choose 100000 (faster than LLR) and in others 100000 (slower than LLR).

Sierp base 12 is now at n=235K; nothing to report. Continuing on to n=250K.
