There is no real way to know where the Mersenne Primes are located. However, we can guess. Because this new prime is 6 million digits"ish" and the Prime before it was about 4 million, i would think that the next one will be about 9 million.

I suggest someone empowered to set up an online poll do one like this ...

The next Mersenne Prime found will be ...

1 - smaller than 2^20996011-1
2 - bigger than M40 but smaller than 10 million digits
3 - bigger than 10 million digits (ka-ching!)

AFAIK every registered user can post a poll here in the forum. Just start a new thread and check "post a poll" on the bottom of the page.
