It does give credit. One just has to manually get the numbers assigned to themselves. Pick numbers using the factor report from the v5 server. Make the worktodo.add. After they are sucked in, manually com for the completetion dates. Viola.

Feature request: for PauseWhileRunning is it possible to make the number-of-workers-to-pause value pause that many worker threads instead? For example, if I have a quadcore running 4 threads on 1 worker, there's no easy way to pause one of the threads and make the 1 worker shift down to only using 3 cores while programX is running.

is there any way to embed prime95 in a screensaver (it "is" the screensaver)?

It should be theoretically possible to make it run as a screensaver, but it hasn't been done AFAIK. Plus, then it only runs when your computer is running the screen saver, wasting all the time that it's not. This is unnecessary, as Prime95 uses so few resources, except for P-1 Stage 2, that it's no problem to run in the background all the time.

open worktodo.txt copy the line(s) in work0001.ini and paste it directly below the line that reads "[Worker #2]" in worktodo.txt start prime95 advanced -> manual communication send new expected completion dates to "register" the assignment |

Yes thanks, this makes sense for work0001 but do you (or anyone) have an explanation why Worker #2 got assigned to ANONYMOUS and how I fix it? |

Correction: It is my previous worktodo.ini assignments that went to ANONYMOUS.
It appears that even though the assignments show as belonging to ANONYMOUS; as they complete the credit is given to me as follows: I was assigned the exponent below in v4 to factor from 65 to 69. 65 and 66 finished before the upgrade to v5 today. 67 (the last line below) finished by me in v5 and was credited to me. However, it still shows as assigned to ANONYMOUS so I can only assume it will credit 68 and 69 bits to me to. I'm curious when new assignments for CPU0 will start to show as belonging to me. Code:
Exponent Status Data 58291063 No factors below 2^65 Assigned Trial factoring to "ANONYMOUS" on 2008-10-28 History no factor from 2^63 to 2^64 by "Sara" on 2008-10-28 History no factor from 2^64 to 2^65 by "Sara" on 2008-10-28 History no factor from 2^67 to 2^68 by "petrw1" on 2008-11-15 |
