Just as an aside, why in hell does "Raman" have 3 numbers reserved??? Given his resources, he should not be allowed to have more than one number reserved at a time. Actually, I would prefer it if he were ignored entirely and his "contributions" not even acknowledged. Despite his having 6,343- reserved, I am thinking about doing it next. He is going to take forever just to finish 10,375-. |

Give the guy some credit. Paul P.S. Reserving 3 numbers is undoubtedly excessive, IMO. |

Note that: I have Core 2 Quad which is fast enough to finish 10,375- in just two months, given that the mfbr and mfba values set up to twice lpbr and lpba respectively. Despite of frequent power failures is the cause of the delay. PS: I can accelerate the sieve with one or two more Core 2 Duos. Last fiddled with by Raman on 2008-10-22 at 16:06 |

I will come back a couple of years later, after being rich in resources and becoming mentally strong ![]() (I have taken so a strong hold of one of the lecturers in my college, who is keeping me mentally strong, which is certainly the background needed so to achieve anything. I spend more time interacting with this person, and so give less attention to the Cunningham Project these days.) PS: My laptop is not tolerating the enough amount of heat needed so to sieve so for 6,343-. Last fiddled with by Raman on 2008-10-22 at 17:09 |

I have the last 800-bit 2-base number (GNFS) and should be in time to finish for the page to close. What is the usual closure - quarterly, triannually, or when the page is full?
Poly is reasonable, sieving is in progress. --Serge |

Under reliable power conditions (during winter), sieving for 6,343- and 6,343+ will not take more than 2 months each, on my Core 2 Quad. I sieve about 1.2 million special-q per day on all 4 cores. ![]() Don't feel bad. Last fiddled with by Raman on 2008-11-13 at 14:27 |

Yet another impossible/unbelievable claim from a crank.
My siever processes a single special q for 2, 836+ on each core of my 2-core 2.4Ghz laptop in about 9.6 seconds. This is 9000 special q per day per core. With 4 cores, it is 36000 per day. You claim your siever is 33 times faster? Ridiculous. Further, it will only take 5 to 6 million special-q's to completely sieve your numbers. Hence, your factorizations should only take 5 days each. |
