Use this thread for reporting any miscellaneous k<300 statuses and primes.
Here is an existing effort that I am aware of: I believe our C443 server has now completed a double-check effort for k=289 for n=520K-600K. Carlos, can you confirm that and that no primes were found? Here are some upcoming efforts that I will work on: Mostly double-check efforts: k=47 for n=210K-600K. k=53 for n=520K-600K. Small new effort: k=65 for n=989.6K-1M. (See below explanation.) Note that I'm not officially reserving k=47 and 53 per se because Beyond has them reserved at RPS per Karsten's and my k<300 page but I will search the ranges up until Beyond's last suspected search ranges, which are n=586K and n=582K respectively. I will stop at that point until I get a response from him to a PM that I sent him a week ago about whether he wishes to continue with these k's. If he unreserves them, we'll include them in our new upcoming k<300 drive for n=600K-1M. For k=65, I am officially reserving that one but only for 2-3 days or until I complete it to n=1M. I'll use Bruce's sieved file for our new upcoming k<300 drive. (see below) I'm not sure why RPS didn't finish it up to n=1M. The starting n-range for k=47 and 53 is the last publicly reported range completed at RPS, regardless of whether subsequent primes were found. Each k had one prime above the lower n-range here. We're now getting in a clean up mode for some k<300 and will soon start a drive on either 16 or 18 k's that are not currently being worked on that are currently searched to n=600K. These k's have gone unsearched/unreserved for 1-2 years (most nearly 2 years) at RPS and several are well behind their neighbors on their range. Bruce's sieving on the new drive is currently at P=18T. He expects to finish it up to P=26T by this coming Thursday and the drive should then be ready to go. Look for a new thread to be started a couple of days before the drive starts. It should be very exciting and will give our regular searchers a greater variety of what to search! ![]() Gary Last fiddled with by gd_barnes on 2008-09-08 at 09:35 |

About k=289. No primes found so far but there's still a small gap to be tested (45 candidates), someone with a new machine decided to play with llrnet...lol
I'm now going to change the settings of the server and that gap will be again distributed to the clients. I suppose it will be complete in less than an hour. Last fiddled with by em99010pepe on 2008-09-07 at 09:24 |

In an effort to keep things open and up to date as possible for k<300:
I am assisting Anon in searching k=147 for n=600K-1M. As of Sept. 5th, it was at n=675K. No primes yet. ETA on my completion of k=65 from n=989.6K to 1M is ~2 days. Sieving will complete on k=47 for n=210K-600K and k=53 for n=520K-600K early Tuesday. As stated previously, I'll double-check those up to the limit that Karsten's k<300 page shows them searched to, which would be n=586K and 582K respectively. I'm doing this because those ranges have never been publicly reported in any forum that I've seen and I'd like to get them reported to Wilfred Keller's k<300 ranges searched web page. Clearly there must have been some PM exchange at some point between previous searchers or Beyond and the admins at RPS about ranges completed that was never disclosed publicly. k=289 is now officially complete to n=600K. No more primes were found.
Thanks Carlos and your buds for knocking this out so fast. |

k=47 double-check just started and is at n=247K. No primes. Continuing. k=65 is now complete to n=1M. No primes. Unreserved. k=147 is at n=693K. No primes. Continuing. k=53 double-check will be started after k=47 is complete. Last fiddled with by gd_barnes on 2008-09-10 at 22:55 |

k=47 double check is at n=541K; 2 primes found:
47*2^450470-1 is confirmed prime. 47*2^540494-1 is a MISSING and NEW prime! ![]() This k was previously shown tested to n=586K! This is why we double check. It's all part of the project phylosophy: No prime left behind! :-) k=53 double check is at n=578K; no primes found. k=147 is at n=725K; no primes found. Karsten, I would suggest changing the search ranges at Rieselprime.org for k=47 and 53 to what I show here due to the missing prime. Gary Last fiddled with by gd_barnes on 2008-10-31 at 06:54 |

iirc One of the 17-or-bust primes was from a double check. |

In an Email exchange with Beyond several weeks ago, we got clear approval to search k=47 and 53 up to n=1M. His words were that he thought he searched both to the n=700K to 800K range and jumped to the n>1M range as requested by the RPS admins and subsequently may have searched to the 1.2M to 1.4M range. (?)
So...in addition to double-checking them up to n=600K, I began a 'semi double check' search for n>600K a while back. Consequently I found that: 47*2^695384-1 is prime 47*2^695724-1 is prime A remarkable pair only n=340 apart! ![]() Can anyone else find a pair for the same k<=1001 so close together for n>300K? I saw those primes pop on the top 5000 site and checked thru my results. It appears I was running 47 on that machine we found to be giving dubious results on NPLB back in May.
