Default Most effective multicore "worker settings"?

i have a 4 core system, and am now running v25.6

whats the most efficient 'worker threads' settings?

1) should i run a single core for LL testing, and the rest for factoring, should i just leave the default settings alone (multiple LL testing), or ???

2) should i set affinity for 'smart assignment' or set it to individual cpu's?

thanks.
