I already processed the following pairs (64494/1938194) (64494/1938314) (64494/1938506) and they are still in the knpairs. The prunning is not working. Last returned result from me was 64494/1938506 on 30/06/2008 at 20:06 GMT.
I think you need to set jobMaxTime to 3 days and restart the server. I am not sure if 64494/1858922 was stopped by me, please check the joblist.txt file. Last fiddled with by em99010pepe on 2008-07-02 at 08:24 |

Oh boy. This is going to take a while to sort out. It's 3:30 AM here and I'm going to bed shortly.
Carlos, after David's results files are posted to his server web page at 14:00 GMT on Weds., I'll match up all results files with the original sieved file and see what is remaining. I'll check it against what David says is remaining in the server. I'll be on around noon here (17:00 GMT) Weds. and will get you remaining k/n pairs by 18:00-19:00 GMT. In the mean time, to avoid any more confusion with additional results being processed, it would be best if the server is left down. Carlos, I can see what is left after I get back on, send it to you, and then you can process it all manually. That will make David happy because he can then dismantle port 4 and it'll make Anon and me happy because we will know that all of the results will get processed. Is that OK with you? David, after I verify what is remaining, I'll delete the post with the k/n pairs in it. Gary |

David,
Why has the server not been handing out the lowest k/n pair remaining of 64494 1858922 ? When a k/n pair has been returned to the server as unprocessed by someone that is a lower pair than all of the rest of them, isn't the server supposed to hand it right back out with the next request for a pair? I'm pretty sure that is what Adam's port 300 does. Also, I just now looked at Carlos last 3 pairs processed. The following pairs should also have been handed out to Carlos prior to the last 3 that he processed because they are all less than those: 64494 1931114 64494 1931258 64494 1931906 64494 1932074 64494 1935626 64494 1935698 This is why I was questioning that first k/n pair remaining earlier. Something is not working right with the order in which returned k/n pairs are send back to people to be processed. Gary Last fiddled with by gd_barnes on 2008-07-02 at 09:25 |

Gary, that depends on the jobMaxTime (this case 14 days, that's a lot!!!). Someone, and IronBits must check the joblist.txt file from the server, downloaded them and then gave up testing.

I'm pretty sure I was told to put it at 14 days.
I sent Gary the knpairs.txt , jobslist.txt and primes.txt file in an email. I am not sure primes.txt belongs to port 4, but Gary will know when he looks it over. Server is offline, problem solved.

I've now done an exact accounting of all k/n pairs remaining to be processed for port 4. I've done this by matching the original sieved file that was sent vs. the results processed. I've concluded this:
1. There are 257 pair remaining so David, the count of 261 on your web page is off by 4. Appropriate for port 4 I guess. lol 2. The 64494 1858922 pair is indeed the first k/n pair not yet processed. The 64494 1999418 pair is indeed the last k/n pair not yet processed. 3. David, in the list that you posted, there are 260 remaining so that is 1 less from what is on your web page but 3 more than what is actually remaining. 4. Carlos is correct in that he had already processed: Code:
64494*2^1938194+1 is not prime. Res64: 38A9FA7A1B9E659A Time : 15475.0 sec. 64494*2^1938314+1 is not prime. Res64: FD6153451C216C5B Time : 15626.0 sec. 64494*2^1938506+1 is not prime. Res64: FF5B25D71A310702 Time : 15653.0 sec. 5. The difference between David's list shown and what is actually remaining is only the above 3 pairs and nothing more. 6. Since David's list has 260 pairs and the web site shows 261 pairs remaining, I have no way to know what pair that difference is. Perhaps it is the one that is in between 3 of the final 4 above that Carlos processed: Code:
64494*2^1938242+1 is not prime. Res64: F0C1434CA1D209D9 Time : 15358.0 sec. Carlos, I will send you a PM with a link to the pairs remaining shortly. It will be simply David's list above minus the 3 pairs that you told him that you already processed. David, don't take anything here to mean that the server was in bad shape. It was in decent shape. I suspect the 3 k/n pairs that Carlos had processed would have been properly taken care of had we not stopped the server. It's possible that the timing of the shutdown caused those to not be processed by the server. The only issues that I see are most likely remaining: 1. Why are the 261 pairs shown remaining on your site vs. the 260 in the list that you posted? 2. Has the 64494 1858922 pair REALLY been the first one remaining for < 14 days. I was sure I saw that as the first pair as long as a month ago. Gary |
