Is anyone else moving primarly to v5

Im about 1/4 in v5 and 3/4 v4 im considering taking the plunge but i was wondering if anyone else had given it a try?

I had a system that I pulled out of my farm because it had hardware problems. Now that the problems are fixed I brought it up on v5 the first test was immediately assigned before I had set type of work to request. My bad but not fatal. So its doing a LL test with p-1 ecm factoring just like it would have done on v4 but I want to do Double Checks for a while for my own peace of mind. I still don't know what all the criteria will be when everything is finalized. For that reason I'm holding off for a while on moving the rest. If I lose the work on that system it won't be a great loss and will help a small amount to verify v5 functionality is the way I see it. The process has been going on for two years so I don't think a few more months of waiting will hurt. Some will depend on the type of work you plan to do. I doubt too that GIMPS bandwidth will be adversly affected either. I haven't seen any Green lights in the Forum, rather a somewhat deeeep Orange. George (Prime95) does warn that all work may be lost when the switch is finally made.

I did, but I recommend everyone to start with one machine, gain some experience and only then move more machines. George posted a note somewhere that v5 is not yet intended for pure production use. I am satisfisfied with v5 for my machines though.

All of my running machines are on 25.x, but not v5.

i moved another leg of my computer farm over today

so far im very happy with the V5 server

is there anything that i need to know about it in terms of are my stats going to be errased when it goes live or anything like that?

when does it come out of beta?

There is a small chance I'll do something boneheaded that corrupts the stats tables causing them to be erased.

The missing piece (to ending beta) is the v4-to-v5 bridge. Scott has written it but wants to test it on a copy of the v5 database. Setting up that database copy has been problematic.

I use v5 for all the work I do on GIMPS now, though that's not saying much since I mainly just use GIMPS for short-term filler work.

V5-only for me. And it's been that way for the last 4 months or so.
