ANONYMOUS is one lucky guy.
Gets all the credit for all the hapless converts to the V5 server!This is, seriously, the line you need to fix, V5UserID=ANONYMOUS ...and you'd need to stop and restart the program. No, even worse. Stop the program. Edit the files. Start the program. It only reads the .txt files when it starts or restarts. It rewrites the config files (that you might have edited while it was running) when you stop it. Last fiddled with by Batalov on 2008-05-02 at 09:45 |

i've done the above and its still coming up as ANONYMOUS for my results. Here's my prime.txt and local.txt

In prime.txt:
UserID= need to be: UserID=peterzal and then it might be anonymous alittle while still if you have alot of lines in worktodo.ini and results done in prime.spl. It will only be your name for any work it downloads after you change it. Last fiddled with by ATH on 2008-05-02 at 17:19 |

UserID= and UserPwd are your v4 user id and password. They can be deleted.
V5UserID in prime.txt is correct. Delete the SrvrUID value. This is the user ID that prime95 thinks the server has associated with this computer. When prime95 sees that UserID and SrvrUID are different it knows it must send the new UserID value to the server. This should all happen automatically if you use the menus to manage your user id rather than editing the settings files directly. |

still no dice. i've even tried to go through the menus and set it up. things are still coming up as anonymous. ive waited until all the results in .spl and all the worktodo.txt entries were processed with the 'anonymous' user name. then i stopped the client. made the changes and started it up again. one more time here are prime.txt and local.txt.
Code:
V24OptionsConverted=1 SendAllFactorData=1 StressTester=0 UsePrimenet=1 DialUp=0 UserID= UserPwd= AskedAboutMemory=1 UseV4=0 V5UserID=peterzal WorkPreference=1 OutputIterations=10000000 ResultsFileIterations=999999999 DiskWriteTime=30 NetworkRetryTime=2 NetworkRetryTime2=70 DaysOfWork=20 DaysBetweenCheckins=1 TwoBackupFiles=1 SilentVictory=0 [PrimeNet] Debug=0 ProxyHost= Sending result to server: UID: peterzal/axp2500, M706681603 no factor to 2^59, Wd2: 7E945EAF, AID: CA911650262BAD1FA079D6DEA3AD75F2 Last fiddled with by antiroach on 2008-05-02 at 18:15 |

Sending result to server: UID: peterzal/axp2500, M706681603 no factor to 2^59, Wd2: 7E945EAF, AID: CA911650262BAD1FA079D6DEA3AD75F2
Seems to work fine? |

Factored 790M-1B to 2^43.
This removes on average 28% of the exponents: for each million ~13,600. (May help with the network traffic on the server, I hope.) The results are here if you want them http://snp.gnf.org/batalov/TF43/ Each ZIP file contains the factors (all to 2^43, not the smallest) and a separate file of "Mppppppppp no factor to 2^43" (only p numbers are listed, not the complete phrase) |

Batalov, have you submitted those results to the V5 server? Unfortunately the V5 server hasn't registered that the numbers 790M-1B have been factored (except for a few here and there), so it will probably still hand those out to be factored.

No, I haven't. I knew that it will take forever (to get them submitted thru the 25.6 client) - that's why I mentioned earlier that it would be better done in bulk, locally at the server's site.
But I am giving it a try, from top to bottom. http://v5www.mersenne.org/report_recent_cleared/ The 999M->990M is loaded. The 989M->900M range takes the whole night to be loaded - and it's all web calls that take all time, not the calculations. It's a good stress test for the spool function of the 25.x... You can check the stats for the 900-999M range in 10-12 hours, when the process will have finished. Then I will proceed from 790M->899M (if the provider will not block my million webcalls to the v5 server). |

are you also submitting the results when no factor has been found ? (from looking at the recently cleared results it does not seem like you are doing this)
