I don't know if this is related or not but I've already noticed that sometimes the tool runs faster for a long while and then slower for a long while and can go faster again. This happens when I start using my PC and then leave. It also happens after a fresh boot. I get different speeds (for multiple hours of run without touching the PC).
I don't know if this is because I am loosing resources or not. Norton SystemWorks tells me I am running low in resources sometimes. I wonder if it's linked to how the cache stores the data or anything like that. It could also be a known sneaky windows tool that monitors the HDD to be ready to open files later. I forgot its name. But it sure slows down everything when it runs. Turn it off. Anyway, the best way to get speed is to turn off all the background programs. And boy, there are many! Try TaskInfo to see what you have running in the background. There are surprises! ![]() Hope this helps. |
