Noob question

I actually just got prime95 a few days for stress testing on overclocking but I actually got interested in the idea of finding the mersenne primes. Quick question though, if my computer actually does find a mersenne prime, what happens? Does it flash lights and beeps or something, or do i have to to keep checking in the 'results' textfile because its written it in there. Just want to make sure if I do find a mersenne prime, it doesn't go unnoticed.

I think it beeps, I've never found one so I'm not sure. But never mind about missing it, if you find one everybody will know.

You are kept up to date with the progress of the test, but the
intermediate "results" tell you nothing. And IIRC you can opt for
it not to beep when it finds a prime if you want to

When your computer reports its results to PrimeNet (assuming you haven't turned that off), the server will definitely notice that you've found a Mersenne prime, and it will send alert messages to several project people who will be very, very eager to communicate with you. (You might even receive a call or two from news reporters, though I don't know how quickly that will happen.)
