I posted this a while ago, but I'd like to ask it. I tried to install AOL but the C drive was too crowded, so I moved the program files to D. Now it says that there is another disk in there, kinda like when you put a floppy disk in during bootup. So can I move the files back to C or fix it another way? Please respond!

Come on, it can't take you that long!
If you don't know how to fix it you might want to say that. |

Oh gosh, I meant to edit but you only have 5 minutes.
Anyway, can you use a motherboard only for computing? Obviously, you need the monitor and keyboard sometime, but can you hook that up directly to the motherboard? |

I don't know what error you're seeing, but moving a program's folder is generally a Bad Idea, because the program & possibly windows might still be trying to find stuff in the old location.
To fix the situation, try moving the folders back again. It should fix some of the problems caused by moving them, but maybe some problems will still be there. Moving a program generally needs to be done by uninstalling it & reinstalling it in the new location. To make room on c:, it might be easier to move some of your documents & other files, especially large ones like music, video, downloads. Unless you've done that already, of course. It doesn't work, okay? I can't just move the files!
I don't really need to free up space either. Just put a floppy disk in the computer when it's off, turn it on, and you'll see what I'm seeing. I don't actually have a floppy disk in there, though. |

This isn't a hardware thread, so I moved it over to software.
Your problem with your AOL is probably that the registry entries involved are all pointing to the wrong place, so that when it tries to start up, it can't FIND the files it needs. This is *WHY* just copying files from one place to another tends to break programs under Windows 9x and NT when you "just move them". You'll likely have to reinstall AOL to get it to work. |

When you have a problem try giving as much information as possible. What is the exact message you see on the screen? What version of windows are you running? If the files are on a FAT partition you can boot using a bootdisk and copy all files back with xcopy. |

Forget AOL. Who cares about that? It's broken, silly!
Anyway, it is a FAT drive, so maybe you could tell me more about that, please. It is Windows 95. |
