Thanks Carlos, nice idea... and maybe next week I'll find some spare time to revitalize my Celeron and help the search. Luigi |

As for your remind, I'm afraid I can't contact them all, most switch on their PCs only during workdays and we need power to maintain our position Too bad that at my office we don't have Internet connection at all...Maybe my 32 nodes cluster will be ready by next rally ![]() Thanks for the fun. The first client has been connected and is happily crunching at the lowest priority, the installation ran smoothly.
The team I chose was "Team_Italia" but then I noticed that the underscore should be used to separate team names from usernames ![]() 1 - Should I close the client, modify the llr-clientconfig file and restart the client or simply modify the file? Or what? ![]() 2 - On the FAQ I read: " You'll also have to change this value in the llr-guiconfig.txt for the installations that have been set to a different GUIPort." where can I find llr-guiconfig.txt file? :surprised Luigi Last fiddled with by ET_ on 2008-02-07 at 23:47 |

1. 'Team_Italia' as team name is ok, only to see the name in the result-file.
2. 'llr-guiconfig.txt' is located in the LLRnet-install dir! it contains: Code:
clientsDesc = {
[1]={
["password"]="llrnet",
["port"]=6999,
["name"]="Local",
["address"]="localhost",
},
}
the same has to be set in 'llr-clientconfig.txt' as 'GUIport = 6999' etc. Last fiddled with by kar_bon on 2008-02-07 at 23:53 |

That's the reason of my question...Also, I used Carlos' hint in message #24 but wrote (username = "Team_Italia_ET_") and I guess the server will have its headaches in decoding the team from the user with all these underscores. Luigi Last fiddled with by ET_ on 2008-02-08 at 00:01 |

oh your're right. that file is missing.
so make a text-file "llr-guiconfig.txt" with above code. that's it. the server get the results as this: Code:
user=Free-DC_IronBits [02/03/08 15:46:38] 827*2^321608-1 is not prime. Res64: 3D0A5734D752C7E5 Time : 249.0 sec. |

Iirc,the gui-files are associated with the graphical user interface.
It will make the file as you add the clients to the interface. (BTW, I'm in for the rally with 2 machines,4 cores now :>) |

Just a quick note, in the last 24 hours the server received more than 11 000 k/n pairs with 5 primes found or checked.
