Default 7,295- status and discussion

After finishing off 6,305- with

prp53 factor:
24506226188880631899928133376464081634967825718604821
prp103
factor:
106807185570378376118112346126897310429409832236904179083343713921419372
4057795181478916448908089214641

I am currently trying to do so for
7,295-. What parameters do you recommend
for it?

It has taken 8
months for sieving for 6,305-, far much longer than what
others would
have taken.

I have started up 7,295- with factor base limits of 30
million on the
algebraic side and 50 million on the rational polynomial.
I have set up with
28 bit large primes for the quartic and 29 bit large
primes for the linear
polynomial. Is it all OK? I have taken the value
for skewness as 1.

Mr. Sander Hoogendoorn and Mr. Tom Womack each of
them have finished up with
5,447- and 10,309- in just 2 weeks. Even for
a quartic, with 2 cores, they
would not have taken more than a maximum
of 3 months at all. My guess is
that all my delay is due to poor
parameters only.

Even for a quartic, Dr. Silverman have finished off
2,1630M in one month
time, with six cores. With two cores, he would not
have taken more than
three months time.

For 6,305-, I needed to sieve
all special-q from 10000 to 40 million with
factor base limits of 40
million on both sides to get sufficient relations.
Assuming that a
sieving special-q range of 100000 on each core takes about
18 hours on
each core, it takes about 7200 CPU hours to sieve the entire
thing. Or
it takes about atleast 6 months to do the entire sieving on both
the
cores.

The slowing down of processor due to accumulation of dust in
the heat sink
wouldn't have caused much difference. It happened near the
end of the
sieving only. It took 8 months for the sieving, if I was
aware of the
slowness of the processor due to dust and taken remedy for
it, sieving
should not have taken
up less than 6 months. I have
compensated for it up right by running some of
the work for the sieving
job in my uncle's computer.

All of the delay, I believe is only due
to poor parameters only. Please give
me the optimal parameters, what you
think so of, for 7,295-.

Read this post, understand it, implement it and then go away until you have the factors.

Thanks for giving me a chance. As I promise, I will work for myself, and not trouble others everytime waiting for their response.

akruppa and Xyzzy, please co-operate.

@ xilman: What made you to change your decision?

Once again, thanks for giving me a chance.
