Default Questions about SSE2 code and Factoring

Quoting from Page Fault in another thread:

Quote:
With the SSE2 client (anything later than v.22.7) it really kicks in on the 64 bits pass and higher. Below that P4 sucks on factoring
1) Would it be efficient to apply the SSE2 code to passes below 64 bits?
2) If the answer to 1 is NO, could the factoring be split at 64 bits so that the slower machines (like mine) handle it up to 64 bits, and those of us with SSE2 processors handle 64 bits and up?

you could try soemthing like this

"You can do P-1 factoring by adding lines to worktodo.ini:
Pfactor=exponent,how_far_factored,has_been_LL_tested_once
For example, Pfactor=10000157,64,0"

just add that line to your faster comptuers work to do

and transfer the files over it should start up were it thinks it left off.
