Default Last Logon Date/Time Missing

An appeal to the gerbils: please restore in the upper right corner the listing of the last date and time that one logged onto the Forum. This helps one to know where one has to start reading in threads.

Thank you, gerbils, for your assistance....

On that note, you can just use New Posts to see everything since your last visit.

No mercy from the gerbils.... I'd still like to see the date/time one is last logged on.

We clipped that part out accidentally a while ago and in the process found out that it used more resources than we expected, so we figure unless everyone is freaked out by it being missing it is best to leave it off, since it shows on every single page.

If you post a poll and the majority want it back we can revert back to the way it was before. We figured, given a choice, people would rather have the private message statistics than the last time they were logged in.

We are just looking for ways to cut database server resources. A lot of the default forum behavior, while fun and interesting, is not really essential to our mission, in our opinion.

Ahhh, now I understand... I didn't realize it had such an effect on server resources. Just keep it the way you've changed it...

Honestly, it isn't a huge effect. It is just the sum of all the little doo-dads that add up to a big effect.
