Hi, I thougt about fine tuning my contribution a little, this way: I run Prime95 on a P4 at home and on a PIII at work. Two of the exponents currently assigned to my P4 are 12,698,243 and 15,343,519.
According to a post by George from Aug.14 in the other newsgroup, the FFT crossovers are now (version 22.8 ) 12,650,000 and 15,070,000 for the P4, and for the PIII 12,890,000 and 15,340,000 (+/-0.2% with the new soft crossovers). So if it would be possible to move those exponents from my P4 to my PIII, I could increace my overall performance. (Might be a tiny bit, but it would be subsantional enough to me. 8) ) I think about doing this by manually removing the corresponding lines from my P4 worktodo file, and manually inserting these lines into my PIII worktodo file. Is this operation "allowed" and do you think this should work? |
