We have been told, by a very reliable source, that the attached image is Ernst's desktop background.

Edited a background available from the Peanuts site myself to have more of the characters. (http://www.unitedmedia.com/comics/peanuts/) I'm collecting The Complete Peanuts series, which means I own all the Peanuts comic strips from 1950 to 1964. The last won't be released until May 2016, so it will be a while before I have all of them.

Currently it is

The machine Z could be the ace up the sleeve of Western civilization over rough dictatorships possessing todays energy reserves.

Comet Hale-Bopp, as viewed from just above the mirror of my telescope, looking up past the secondary mirror. I'm in silhouette at the eyepiece on the left. This is downsized of course; the original image is very nice. Tremendous comet, with its distinct dust and ion tails.

My current background. It has a poor aspect ratio for the job but I just like the image a lot.

That is incorrect - the attached image is in fact what I have my work cubicle wallpapered with. Get your facts straight, mister.
