Yeah, I think the first file I sent you, about 2-3 weeks back, was "broken."

I'll send the file tonight or tomorrow.

Default Progress on k = 23451 and k = 60849 LLR tests

Hi,

to-day, k = 23451 is up to n = 1,807,892 base 2, no prime, continuing...

and k = 60849 is up to n = 1,700,346 base 2, no prime, continuing...

I think than when exponents 2,000,000 reached, it will be time to split the LLR
testing work between several users...

Regards,
Jean

Hey, tcadigan, are you sieving this file. If so, where are you at?

If I don't get a response by Wednesday night(I'm in -5GMT time zone) I'm going to go ahead and go from 2,000G.

I haven't touched it, I merely put it into a format that I'm familiar with. I also seem to have become a collector of sorts for the effort put into this project. there isn't much to keep track of so it's pretty easy. I also haven't been able to LLR recently. various hardware failures have prevented me from doing so. I hope to be able to resume soon.

I agree with Jean that once we reach 2 mil LLR will have to be split up.

When this thread was transferred to the Open Projects Forum, I decided to check what was going on since I'd left. That's when I discovered by forgotten reservation.

Since I have no idea what happened to the original file, I'm going to take what I have here, which is only at 5G, and jump in. I'll post where I intend to go up to after I find out the speed of sr2sieve iwth this file.

reserving 5-2500(will take about a week on two cores of my quad-core, my 2.4GHz quad-core e6600 sieves at about 2.1M p a second on each core)

Edit 2: I've stopped sieving because nothing is being found past 6G which, considering how fast the factors were coming up to that point, probably indicates a bug of some sort.

Edit3: And downloading the most recent update doesn't help a bit. I'm going to move on to another project for the time being.

Default I hope this project is still continuing!

I am continuing to LLR k=23451 and k=60849 up to n=2,000,000 base two :

To-day, k=23451 is up to n=1,877,792 no prime...

k=60849 is up to n=1,804,626 no prime...

Some precisions about the present "speed" of this desert crossing :

k=60849 is tested on a dual core Centrino, and each n requires a little less than 8 hours presently (but there are 2 "simultaneous" tests)...
k=23451 is tested on a 2.53 GHz Pentium 4, and each n requires a little less than 6 hours presently...

May we know about the prime test progress on k=18534 and k=64494 ?

An updated status of this search would be now useful!

Best Regards,
Jean

I am still going but progress is slow, I have to keep my computer off much more than before to save power.

k=64494 just finished n=1745162

I'm still running it...

k=18534 is at 1.5M. I haven't touched it for a while. If anyone wants to work on it, they can. It is slightly faster than the other k's being less than 10,000.

Well, I launched it on an AMD Athlon 64 3700+ , 2199.66 MHz speed
It starts at n=1,500,606
For now, the time by iteration is 6 Ms

The date of the presieved file I am using is 04/02/2007

There are 692 candidates in the file, so, it would be completed before the end
of this year, if no prime found...

I wish we will have better luck now!

Regards,
Jean

Here is my status to-day 02-Nov-07 :

k=18534, n=1674846, no prime...

k=23451, n=1901548, no prime...

k=60849, n=1836366, no prime...

After the last success of SoB, I think we might also make some double checking...

Jean
