Given that I'm the last grad student to learn how to TeX, does anyone know how to display long division in Mathematica?

What do you mean speaking about long division? Give an example.

Go to page 42 and read up on the tabular environment. It'll tell you enough about manipulating tables so that you can make one which will display long division. |

To the OP:
If I knew how to do it in Mathematica, I would be giving you a nice explanation of how to do it. Instead, I will admonish you for not learning TeX. Shame! For Shame! ...now go learn TeX :) |
