Default This date in time...

I figured i should start a tread on things significant on this date in time :) . For example the day is December 23, 2002. I may post:

December 23, 1783

After the Revolutionary War ended, George Washington voluntarily gave up power.

There is no limit on how far back you can go, but your history bit needs to be at least 1 year old.

Anyone can post about anything that happened on that day's date, but try to limit your findings to 1 event per date (so others can join in the fun :) ).

I will lead off with the next post :) ...

September 3rd, 1783, the Treaty of Paris was signed, bringing the Revolutionary War to its final conclusion.

With this treaty, Great Britain recognized American independence. However, the Queen says you are welcome back in the Commonwealth any time you get fed up of those scuzzy Presidents you keep electing.
