Maths Tutorials I
What has prompted me to submit this is the minimal response to Maths QuizII.
GROUP THEORY
A Group consists of only two things:
1) A Set and 2) an operation.
The operation can be plain addition, plain multiplication,Matrix addition or multiplication, or any other operation to be explicitly specified.
Now the following conditions must be fulfilled:
1) An operation on a member of the set must yield a member of the set
(This property is called CLOSURE )
2) Must have ASSOCIATIVE property
3) Must have a Neutral or IDENTITY element
4)Existence of INVERSE
Collectively this can be remembered by acronym: CAIN
Populaar example: Integers with operation: addition
Will be only too happy to elucidate further.
