So the response from many on the right has been "Laws are colorblind. The don't care if you are black or white".

Although I agree that there is a certain level of truth to that for most laws, conservatives know very well that such laws are built upon assumptions around wealth, income, employment, access to health care (including mental health), etc. If it is harder for a person to get a valid voter id (can't keep a job, homeless, move frequently, etc), don't blame the law, blame the person. If it is harder for a person to find a job that pays a living wage (cheaper for businesses to move out of the city, not enough qualified workers in the city), blame the person. If the schools are failing, blame the school system, families, or students.
